Model ID: DY98-1
The DY98-1 service focuses on decking (or resurfacing), a fundamental machining operation required to maintain the structural integrity of the engine's combustion seal. Over time, thermal cycling can cause a cylinder head to warp, creating microscopic gaps between the head and the engine block. Feiya utilizes heavy-duty CNC face milling equipment to skim the deck surface, removing the minimum amount of material necessary to restore absolute flatness. This process corrects any warpage or pitting, ensuring that the cylinder head sits perfectly parallel to the block deck.
Crucially, our decking process is not just about flatness; it is about surface finish management. Different head gaskets require different surface textures to seal effectively. For modern high-performance engines using Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) gaskets, we employ Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) cutting inserts to achieve a mirror-smooth finish (low Ra value), preventing fluids from wicking past the seal. Conversely, for composite gaskets, we can adjust the cutter speed to provide the necessary "tooth" for adhesion. By precisely controlling the material removal rate, we also allow tuners to slightly increase the static compression ratio, turning a standard maintenance procedure into a performance upgrade.
