The DY248 Gasoline Vapor Capture Nozzle is engineered for fuel stations operating under strict environmental regulations (such as Stage II controls). Its primary mission is Active Hydrocarbon Containment. During the refueling process, the displacement of fuel into the vehicle tank forces gasoline vapors out. Instead of venting these carcinogenic fumes into the breathing zone of the customer, the DY248 captures them at the source.
The key to the DY248’s performance is its highly flexible vapor sealing boot. This accordion-style bellow compresses against the vehicle's fill pipe, creating a temporary airtight seal. As liquid fuel flows into the tank through the inner tube, a vacuum is created (or a balanced pressure system is engaged) in the outer coaxial path, suctioning the vapors back into the underground storage tank. This closed-loop system not only protects the environment but also significantly reduces product loss due to evaporation, saving the station owner money over time. The nozzle retains a user-friendly design with a 3-notch hold-open clip and a sensitive automatic shut-off to prevent spillage.
