The DY03 Gerotor Pump (Generated Rotor) represents the industry standard for modern, high-speed motorcycle lubrication systems. Unlike traditional external gear pumps, the DY03 utilizes a trochoidal internal rotor mechanism. This consists of an inner drive rotor and an outer driven ring, with the inner rotor having one less tooth than the outer. As they rotate, the expanding volume between the teeth creates a powerful vacuum for suction, while the contracting volume on the opposite side forces oil out under pressure. This design allows the pump to be mounted concentrically directly on the crankshaft, eliminating the need for drive chains or gears and significantly reducing the engine's overall footprint.
The defining characteristic of the DY03 is its exceptional volumetric efficiency at high RPMs. The smooth, rolling contact of the trochoidal gears minimizes fluid shear and aeration (foaming), ensuring that the oil supplied to the bearings is pure and incompressible.
