Model ID: DY137
The DY137 represents our high-precision face milling capability, a critical machining process that defines the quality of the cylinder head deck. The interface between the cylinder head and the engine block must be perfectly flat to contain extreme combustion pressures and fluids. To achieve this, Feiya moves beyond standard fly-cutting and employs large-diameter Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) face mills on high-speed CNC centers. PCD inserts are exceptionally hard and wear-resistant, allowing for high-velocity cutting that shears the aluminum cleanly rather than tearing it, resulting in a superior surface finish free from chatter marks or waviness.
Our milling process is strictly controlled to deliver specific Surface Roughness (Ra) values tailored to the type of head gasket being used. For modern Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) gaskets, we achieve an ultra-smooth finish (typically Ra < 0.4μm) to ensure a microscopic seal. For traditional graphite or composite gaskets, we can adjust the feed rate to provide a slightly textured "bite" that helps retain the gasket material. This attention to deck flatness and texture prevents coolant and oil leaks, minimizes distortion during thermal expansion, and ensures the engine maintains maximum compression efficiency throughout its service life.
