The DY181 series highlights Feiya’s expertise in Sand Casting, a manufacturing process chosen for its unparalleled design flexibility and ability to handle complex internal geometries. Unlike rigid metal molds used in die casting, sand casting employs collapsible resin-bonded sand cores. This allows us to manufacture engine parts with intricate internal features—such as convoluted water cooling jackets, deep intake runners, and complex oil galleries—that would be impossible to demold using other methods. This makes it the ideal solution for liquid-cooled cylinder heads and crankcases requiring sophisticated thermal management systems.
We have modernized the traditional sand casting approach by utilizing shell molding and furan resin technologies. These advanced binders produce a mold with a significantly smoother surface finish and higher dimensional stability than green sand, reducing the machining allowance required. Furthermore, this process offers a cost-effective pathway for low-to-medium volume production runs, as the tooling costs are substantially lower than high-pressure steel dies.
