Tumbling Finish Motorcycle Cylinder Head

Model ID: DY65-2

The DY65-2 utilizes a Vibratory Tumbling (Mass Finishing) process to achieve a surface that is both functional and touch-friendly. Unlike directional machining or aggressive blasting, this process involves submerging the cylinder head in a vibrating tub filled with specialized abrasive media—typically cone-shaped ceramic or plastic pellets—and a lubricating compound.  The constant vibration causes the media to rub gently against every surface of the casting, acting like thousands of tiny files working simultaneously.

The primary engineering advantage of this finish is comprehensive deburring. The tumbling action naturally focuses on corners and edges, effectively radiusing (rounding off) sharp flash from the casting process and burrs left behind by machining operations. This makes the component significantly safer for assembly line workers and mechanics to handle without risk of cuts. Visually, the process creates a uniform, non-directional finish with a slight sheen (burnish). It removes surface discolorations and smooths out the roughness of the raw casting, providing a clean, "bright" aluminum appearance that is resistant to dirt accumulation and ideal for general consumer applications.
